About us
Things in Cairo is a local guide that helps you discover the best places and services in Cairo. It is written in plain English and built on real knowledge of the city and its neighbourhoods.
We started the site because many local guides are either too general or out of date, while Cairo is a big, varied city that needs a guide which understands its details, from its historic quarters to the metro stations that connect them.
What you’ll find on the site
The site lists hundreds of places and services, sorted into categories, including:
- Restaurants and cafés across Cairo’s neighbourhoods
- Doctors and clinics sorted by specialty (dentistry, cardiology, orthopaedics, dermatology, neurology, obstetrics and gynaecology, and more)

Every listing shows the address, phone number and location on the map, so you can get there easily.
Cairo neighbourhoods map
One of the site’s highlights is the interactive guide to Cairo’s neighbourhoods. It covers more than 40 neighbourhoods and more than 200 landmarks and sights, from Zamalek and Downtown to Islamic Cairo, Maadi and Dokki. The guide links straight to the places listed on the site, so you can easily see what is near each neighbourhood.
Cairo transport guide
We also have a guide to more than 180 metro, monorail, LRT and BRT stations across Cairo, to help you move between neighbourhoods and reach the places you are looking for in the easiest way.
Do you own a business in Cairo?
You can add your business to the site for free with the “Add your business” button in the top menu. Every new listing or change is reviewed by our team before it goes live, to keep the information accurate for our visitors.
